As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll provide tailored instruction to students with diverse learning needs, supporting their IEP goals in inclusive classroom settings. Working across multiple schools, you’ll build strong relationships, gain valuable experience, and make a lasting impact on a consistent weekday schedule with no weekend hours.
Key Responsibilites:
1. Conducts annual parent/caregiver interviews and student assessments.
2. Develops and coordinates individualized education programs (IEPs) with parents and multidisciplinary teams.
3. Creates individualized instructional programs and adapts curriculum/environment to meet student needs.
4. Teaches independent living, vocational, social, and community-based skills.
5. Documents student progress and communicates with parents, staff, and administrators.
6. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams including OT/PT, speech, nursing, psychology, and social services.
7. Promotes age-appropriate social integration and advocates for quality services for students with exceptional needs.
8. Provides parents with training and resources to support student learning at home.
9. Coordinates and conducts annual IEP meetings alongside Regional Center IPP development.
10. Performs regular classroom teacher duties, including planning and instruction.
11. Supervises and evaluates assigned instructional aides.
12. Supports student evaluation and placement with Special Services and Student Study Teams.
13. Maintains professional development and competencies through ongoing training.
Required Qualifications:
- Education Specialist Instruction Credential
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience working with children
- Applicants must have professional proficiency in English

Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable being on your feet and moving around the classroom throughout the day
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs and safely assist students when needed (kneeling, bending, quick response)
- Additional physical requirements may be requested during your application process

Salary
Pay: $41 - $51 per hour, paid weekly.
Schedule: Full-time
